jorgen_bendtsen

Jørgen Bendtsen has many years experience af research and consultancy on ocean and climate issues. He has been involved in analysis of the biogeochemical cycles in the ocean, i.e. the cycling of nutrients, oxygen and carbon by the organisms in the sea and ocean currents. An example is the interplay between oxygen conditions in the Baltic Sea and nutrient loadings from land via fjords and coastal waters. He has investigated how the ocean influences the atmospheric CO2 level and its role for the future climate on Earth. Jørgen Bendtsen is involved in investigations of the circulation in the seas around Greenland and in deep Greenlandic fjords, and how the circulation is influenced by melting land and sea ice. Jørgen Bendtsen is external lecturer at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen.
