Karin Gustafsson, Ph. D.
Karin Gustafsson has many years experience in ocean research and consultancy on marine issues. She has large expertience on mixing processes in the sea, and the role of tidal waves and winds for mixing, circulation and transports in the sea. She has been involved in oceanographic investigations of the Deep sea, Baltic Sea, Danish Straits and Nordic and Arctic fjords. Karin Gustafsson has investigated coastal areas and the importance of freshwater and nutrient loadings from land for the marine environment. She has large expertise in numerical modelling of ocean currents, mixing and the biogeochemical cycling in the ocean, i.e. transport and cycling of nutrients and oxygen by mixing and biological processes.
